About the artist / by Sharoni Idit, curator
My first impression of Esther`s artistic side was through a single painting which caught my eye, a few years ago. It represented a lonely tree, which radiated strength, firm presence and abundance of colors in the same time. The motif of trees, that appeared furthermore in her paintings tells about the inner content of the painter`s feelings, that only became more and more explicit and strengthened throughout the years.
Since that time,Esther`s painting evolved into the direction of the abstract, while using an expressive language, the elements ,that were characteristic in depicting a tree, now expressed strength, optimism ,by using  light, movement and rhythm.
The contours, which were very explicit in the beginning of her carrier, as a painter, became more and more blurred, and the forms were dissolved into stormy movement of  waves and waterfalls, day -and evening-lights,warmth and coldness, fire and water, joy and sorrow.
The space, that is to serve Esther in her work, derives from the rich space of her own inner world, her tempestuous emotions, which urge to be expressed wholeheartedly on the canvas.
